Engine repair addresses specific issues or damaged parts/components or modules, while engine overhaul involves a complete inspection, disassembly, repair or replacement of parts and reassembly of the engine. both are done in accordance with approved maintenance procedures but level of disassembly/assembly is different, smaller in case of repair.

Yes. Most of repairs can be performed without a full overhaul, depending on the engine's condition and the components or modules affected.

Module replacement may include fan, compressor, combustor, high-pressure turbine, low-pressure turbine modules or gearboxes, subject to the engine type and maintenance requirements.

An LPT module replacement may be required when inspection results, wear limits, or maintenance findings indicate that the module no longer meets operational requirements. Also the module replacement may be driven by the expiration of the remaining cycles on the Life limited parts.
